NEXT EVENT -- Great Scott will host "Putting on the Dog" at their store, 4400 Old Canton Rd, Saturday June 8, 2013, from 11am to 3pm.  The Manship Woodfire Kitchen will  donate great food and Campbell's Bakery will donate sweets for the event.  Both will be offered at a great price to raise money for the shelter.  We'll have a silent auction, vendor/crafts market, children's carnival for the kids, and adorable CARA pups available for adoption!  Come eat, shop and play while raising money for CARA!

NEXT EVENT -- CARA's 1st Annual Jail-N-Bail!  Come join us Thursday, May 2, from 10am to 6pm at The Renaissance in Colony Park between Mint and Ruth's Chris.  We will be raising money to replace damaged kennels at the Shelter.  Pay $25 or $50 to have someone arrested and jailed.  They must raise $250 Bail for the $25 entry and $500 Bail for the $50 entry!  Francis will be JAILED so please come out and donate some BAIL to help set Francis and others FREE!

The Spring Market is April 12-14 at the Trade Mart in Jackson--the best fashion, boutique and gift shopping in the South. More than 100 boutiques and shops just returning from market for 3 days of shopping, with some of the trendiest and most stylish fashions! Girls’ Night Out, Wine and Women, is offered on Friday evening, April 12, for just $15 per person after 5:00 p.m. with a special Silent Auction to benefit CARA. Complimentary drinks and a free souvenir wine glass to the first 1000 women.

A CHRISTMAS MEMORY -- New Stage Theatre and CARA Partner for an Upcoming Holiday Musical.  Rascal, one of CARA's adoptable dogs has been cast for the role of Queenie (pictured).  New Stage Theatre will be collecting much needed items for the shelter and those who bring an item will receive $5 off their ticket when purchased at the window.  Dates are Nov 29 - Dec 16, Preview night Tuesday, Nov 29 at 7:30. ADOPT A PET, CARA EVENT by Gray-Daniels Toyota -- Saturday, Dec 15, 11am - 3pm join us at Gray-Daniels Toyota in Brandon.  With your help the folks at Gray-Daniels are going to fill up the back of a Tacoma with Pet supplies while holding an adoption drive for CARA.  Stop by and drop off supplies today and don't forget to stop in Dec 15 to adopt a sweet fur baby for Christmas!

9 Lives for $9 CAT ADOPTION Program -- We're joining Best Friends Animal Society to celebrate those with 9 lives! For 9 days in November (Nov. 10-18), you can adopt any of our cats ages 9 months and older for just $9 (instead of the usual $75 adoption fee). Join us for Open House at the cattery on Friday, Nov.16, and Saturday, Nov. 17, from noon to 5:00. Light refreshments will be served and tours of the cattery will be offered. SAVE THE DATE -- Ladies Only Bikes4Barks charity bike ride event to benefit CARA.  Saturday, October 27, 2012, ride starts at 7:30 am at The Bike Crossing in Ridgeland.  CARA will be in attendance from 10:00 - 1:30 with dogs available for adoption and to collect donations of dog/cat food, kitty litter, money, etc. The event features three course distances for all cycling skill levels including a 15 mile, 30 mile, and 62 mile ride. NEXT EVENT -- Rollin Thru the Park, Car, Truck, and Bike Show -- September 15, 2012, 9 am to 4 pm at Pearl City Park (rain date Sept 22).  CARA is very thankful to be the beneficiary of the Rollin' Thru the Park car, truck and bike show in Pearl. Awards for Best Car, Best Bike, Best Truck, Best Stereo and others. "Cruisin' Style" magazine will be taking photos. Special appearances by the "Sudden Impact" monster truck racing team.  August 25th at the 5th Annual Dog Days of Summer at Pelahatchie Shore Park in Brandon was a great day for CARA and our supporters.  We enjoyed a pet parade, silent auction, live music, arts and crafts vendors, baked treats and snacks, children's carnival, educational demonstrations, blessing of the pets, and most of all seeing all of you, our CARA supporters!  Our event was a huge success and we are SO THANKFUL to our Volunteers who worked for months on putting this event together!  They did a great job.  We are also incredibily THANKFUL to our sponsors who made this event possible!
