3rd Annual Wine Tasting to Benefit CARA! The event hosted by Herrin Gear Automotive Group will be held at Olga’s Fine Dining on Monday, March 24th, 2014. Awards will be presented for Top 35, Best Car, Best Bike, Best Truck, Best Stereo, Best Paint, Best Engine, Best Interior, Mayor’s Choice, 501st Legion Choice and Transformer Car Club Choice. New categories include Best 4x4 and Best ATV. Bring the kids to meet the Star Wars and Transformers fan clubs. Come check out the Casper Monster Truck. Door prizes will be awarded and general admission is FREE!
9 Lives for $9 CAT ADOPTION Event -- We're joining Best Friends Animal Society to celebrate those with 9 lives! For 9 days in June (June 21-30), you can adopt any of our cats ages 9 months and older for just $9 (instead of the usual $75 adoption fee). All cats are spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Join us for Open House at the cattery on Saturday, June 22, from 1:00 to 4:00. Light refreshments will be served and tours of the cattery will be offered.

NEXT EVENT -- Great Scott will host "Putting on the Dog" at their store, 4400 Old Canton Rd, Saturday June 8, 2013, from 11am to 3pm. The Manship Woodfire Kitchen will donate great food and Campbell's Bakery will donate sweets for the event. Both will be offered at a great price to raise money for the shelter. We'll have a silent auction, vendor/crafts market, children's carnival for the kids, and adorable CARA pups available for adoption! Come eat, shop and play while raising money for CARA!
NEXT EVENT -- CARA's 1st Annual Jail-N-Bail! Come join us Thursday, May 2, from 10am to 6pm at The Renaissance in Colony Park between Mint and Ruth's Chris. We will be raising money to replace damaged kennels at the Shelter. Pay $25 or $50 to have someone arrested and jailed. They must raise $250 Bail for the $25 entry and $500 Bail for the $50 entry! Annual Dog Days of Summer at Pelahatchie Shore Park in Brandon was a
great day for CARA and our supporters. We enjoyed a pet
parade, silent auction, live music, arts and crafts vendors, baked
treats and snacks, children's carnival, educational demonstrations,
blessing of the
pets, and most of all seeing all of you, our CARA supporters! Our event
was a huge success and we are SO THANKFUL to our Volunteers who worked
for months on putting this event together! They did a great job. We
are also incredibily THANKFUL to our sponsors who made this event
