CARA is...

  • Operated by volunteers & part-time employees
  • Supported by private donations from individuals, businesses, & fund raising events
  • Receives no funds from the city, county, state or federal government
  • Recognized as an accredited charity by the Better Business Bureau


The Primary Goals of CARA are...

  • To place our adoptable animals into loving, caring homes
  • Supporting spay/neuter programs and ensuring that all animals in our care are spayed and neutered prior to adoption.
  • Promote responsible pet ownership
  • Teach communities the proper care & treatment of all pets & why spay/neuter is important

Pet of the Week

Cat of the Week

Audrey Hepburn is a female Tortie who is about 8 months old. She is shy but loves to play with her sibling, Jean Harlow.

 Dog of the Week

Lucy is a female Pointer mix who is about 2.5 years old. She was taken out of a hoarding situation by the Humane Society of the U.S. and brought to CARA. Lucy lives to be loved on; she is the kind of dog that would fit into any home.
